HOW TO PLAY. The object of UNO is to get rid of all your cards before the other players get rid of theirs. You get rid of cards from your hand by discarding cards that match the top card in the Discard pile in the center of the table. The game is called "UNO" (which means "one" in Spanish) because when you get down to only one card in your hand you are supposed to shout the word "UNO".
If you forget to say UNO, you are penalized by having to draw two more cards from the pile. Of course, it's rather silly to yell UNO at a computer, so in this UNO online card game you need to quickly press the red UNO button instead (see below). Just like the actual UNO game, this UNO online card game includes "special" cards in addition to the numbered cards: REVERSE.
The Reverse card switches the direction of play. The Reverse card has a picture of two arrows facing opposite directions. For example, if the next turn belongs to the player on your left, the player on your right takes a turn instead. SKIP CARD. The symbol on the Skip card looks like a circle with a slash through it. The Skip card can be any of the four UNO colors. The player whose turn is next loses his/her turn when this card is played (they are "skipped"). This card can be played on another Skip card or on any card with a matching color.
DRAW TWO. When this card is played, the next person to play must draw two cards from the Draw pile. They also miss their turn, and cannot play a card. The Draw Two card has a "+2" on it and a picture of two overlapping cards. WILD. This card allows the player who played it to change the current active color. For example, if the top card in the Discard pile is Green, the player can change it to Red, Yellow, or Blue. The idea is to change the active color to a color that you have a lot of cards for, or that you know your opponents don't have.
The Wild card has a picture of an oval divided equally into the four UNO colors. WILD DRAW FOUR. This card not only allows you to change the active color, it also requires the next player to draw four cards. The Wild card has a "+4" on it and an oval showing four different UNO color cards.
